Hunger Games Fun and a GIVEAWAY!




I am a huge fan of the HUNGER GAMES and am so excited about its opening this weekend! When Angela Daniels, Lead Fiskateer asked if I would help out with a project, a post and a giveaway, I jumped at the opportunity! So, lets give some stuff away! I wanted to make a jewelry piece that I could wear to the movie on Friday, and in true Art Life Form, I made these altered art pendants! They feature the darling "Bird" punch, but have you noticed how much the resemble a MockingJay??? :)




I used WOW Embossing powders to give the bird and the "fire" paper underneath some texture. I used the Ultra-High Gold, which is a thick embossing powder that is just heavenly! The pendants are from HHH Enterprises and they have great Jewelry Making supplies! Have you seen the darling new Jenni Bowlin Punches made by Fiskars? They are the cutest things I have ever seen and I had to have them ALL! I'd like to give some away to you! I'll be giving away 2 Fiskars Punches, and one of these pendants!

    We loved The Hunger Games ! I thought the first book was the best. Once I opened it and started reading, I don't think I put it down until I was done! My daughter read it too for one of her summer reading classes . She's going to see the movie this week.

    I love your jewelry ! I've always wanted to try those memory frames. I especially like the birdhouse shaped ones!

    Hunger Games- obsessed Fiskateer #009 sent me and I am also SUPER addicted. I've read through the trilogy twice and can't wait for the MOVIE! WOOHOO.

    My favorite part of the books is the second book entirely. :) So much to love!

    I haven't read it, but Genevieve is reading it right now. She says her favorite part is the games. She comes out of her room crying every night because she is so emotionally involved with with characters!!

    I am embarrassed to say that I hadn't even heard of the Hunger Games until a few weeks ago when all the movie release hype started. I definitely want to read them now! I LOVE the jewelry you made, it is very creative! I need to tell you that Angela did send me this way, but I am so glad I did come - LOVE your blog.

    Yes! I am a huge fan and can't wait until Friday for the movie. I read all the books but I am not sure if you mean favorite part in just the first book or if you mean the whole series. If you mean the whole series then it would be when Kat went from (costume) the "Girl on Fire" to the "MockingJay." I can't wait to see that costume in the movie!!!! Even the one where she was riding the chariot with Peeta and they were on fire....oh I could just imagine. That did have to be spectacular too but the MockingJay .....how cool is that!!!

    I am a follower. I told you about the favorite part and I know you didn't ask but the most touching was with the death of one of her 'opponents' (don't want to spoil it for those who didn't read it and plan on going to the movie) in the games and Kat did "something" to her before they came and got her. A real tear jerker!!!

    Fiskateer 009 sent me! I'd have to say my favorite moment was between Katniss and Peeta on the roof right before their first hunger games. Such a touching moment between both of them even before the romance started!:)

    Oh, The Hunger Games! I've only read the first book, but can't wait to read the next two. My fav part of the book is the end when I think that Katniss and Peeta commit suicide with the berries. It was a tense moment for me. (one of many)

    I have read the books. My favorite part is the number of students that are not only reading the books, but having a hard time putting them down. I love that my students are so into reading a book. Usually they fight reading.
